Salem - The City of Trees...
Salem is officially a City of Trees. Here and there we have what the French call all้es et venues or a drive lined with trees. One of the more famous all้es et venues in Salem is the famed "Beer Can Alley." This has been its unofficial appellation since World War II. Prior to that time it was known as "Lovers' Lane." It has been told that scenic drive even served as a drag strip for a time.
